Dr. Patrick Mahaney and Cardiff Eat Dog Food for Nitro’s Law

by Dr. Patrick Mahaney

While in New York for the 2011 Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show, I had the fortunate opportunity to meet dog trainer, Nikki Moustaki, through our mutual pal Martha Smith, general manager of i Love Dogs supplements (for which Cardiff is a canine ambassador).

Nikki introduced me to and involved me in her promotional campaign for Nitro’s Law. The Nitro Foundation created Nitro’s Law “as a felony provision andproactive legislative measure to increase the outdated misdemeanor-only provisions and penalties currentlyin place for animal crimes in the state of Ohio.”

Ill do (nearly) anything to help animals in need, so Nikki had me eating Lucky Dog Cuisine right out of the bag. Our consumption of this human grade canine fare was filmed and posted on You Tube as part of Nikki’s ongoing series Girl Eats Dog Food for Nitro’s Law.

Well, I wanted to get further involved to help Nitro’s Law, so Cardiff and I created our own You Tube video to further the cause.

Nikki’s hard work is paying dividends, as Nitro’s Law (now called HB 108) is up for passage as a bill in Ohio.Ohio residents, please do your part to fight animal cruelty by contacting your state representative and requesting support for HB 108. You can find your the name of your state representative by following this link and entering your zip code or district.

Non-Ohio residents can help by spreading the word of Nitro’s Law to family and friends, “Like” (-ing) Nitro Foundation on Facebook.
