In this video, a 6-year-old Golden Retriever is standing over a mirror on the lid of a skincare box on the living room floor, studying the dog looking back at her. In the video shared by @nickandhisgoldens, the dog dad says this may be Twyla’s first time seeing her own reflection. She squints, shifts around for a better look, and briefly glances up when he calls her gorgeous. Then it is straight back to the mirror. Her jowls hanging over the reflection only make the whole thing even cuter.
Human catches Golden Retriever admiring herself in the mirror for the very first time
Nick talks to the camera about Twyla while walking toward her, explaining that he thinks she has just discovered her reflection. She is standing over the open skincare box, looking down at the mirror inside the lid. From Twyla’s angle, her own face is right there. Her eyes narrow as she studies it, almost as though she is trying to work out why another Golden Retriever is staring back.
Nick moves closer, giving viewers a better look at what she sees. Twyla checks out her reflection from one angle, then another. The jowls hanging down from her face make each view even more entertaining. Nick tells her she is gorgeous and says, “She is just so pretty.” Twyla looks up at him for a moment, then turns her attention straight back to the mirror.
She keeps admiring herself, shifting her head and checking the reflection again. The Golden Retriever never once takes her eyes off of her reflection. She may not know exactly how the mirror works yet, but she clearly likes what she sees.
The sweet Golden Retriever’s video has earned more than 7,400 likes, and viewers are loving her little mirror love session. One person said she is “as gorgeous as she thinks she is.” Another suggested Twyla needs a standing mirror so she can check every angle. Someone else admitted they would stare at her sweet face all day too. Include us in the watch party, too.
