Dog’s Sweet Tradition With Baby Brother Began Even Before His Birth & Stood the Test of Time

Theo, a Siberian Husky, has apparently stayed close to his human brother through several important changes. The dog’s routine began when he started sleeping under the baby’s crib before the child was born and continued after the newborn came home. Now that his brother is older and sleeps in a bigger bed, Theo has simply found a new spot underneath it.

Theo, a Siberian Husky featured on the Instagram account @thathuskytheo, has seemingly made looking after his human brother part of his everyday routine. According to a video shared by the account, Theo’s habit started even before the baby was born, when his family first prepared the nursery.

After the baby’s crib was set up, Theo began sleeping underneath it. When his baby brother finally came home, the Husky reportedly continued sleeping there every night. What may have started as a simple preference for the space under the crib soon became a routine that lasted through the child’s early years.

The video then jumps forward in time as Theo’s baby brother grows older. Eventually, the child graduates from his crib to a “big boy bed,” marking another milestone in his childhood. But while the boy’s sleeping arrangements changed, Theo’s responsibilities apparently did not.

Rather than abandoning his familiar spot, Theo simply found a new one underneath the larger bed. The Husky continued sleeping beneath his brother’s bed, maintaining the same close presence he had when the boy was a baby. The video’s caption plays along with Theo’s apparent duties, reading, “With Theo on duty, there are no monsters under this bed.” 

Viewers shared their reactions in the comments, with one person writing, “They are the best brothers!” Another recalled, “My Husky loved to go under my parents bed.” Someone else wrote, “Love Theos bond with his human siblings.” One comment offered a possible explanation for Theo’s sleeping position, writing, “Always facing towards the door, watching for danger. That’s how huskies sleep with their pack.”

While it is impossible to know exactly what Theo is thinking when he settles under the bed, his repeated choice to stay close has certainly made his bond with his brother clear.
