Maxi, a Golden Retriever, was not about to patiently wait for her ice cream and came up with a hilarious solution instead. After her owner told her to wait in line like everyone else, Maxi wandered over to another family near the counter. Apparently, she decided joining a different group was the quickest way to get closer to her much-anticipated frozen treat.
Golden Retriever joins another family closer to the ice cream counter after her owner tells her she can’t skip the line
The Instagram video shows Maxi sitting inside an ice cream shop as her family waits in line. The Golden Retriever keeps her eyes fixed on the counter, seemingly keeping a close watch on her much-anticipated treat. Text over the video explains that Maxi initially tried to skip the line, only for her owner to stop her.
Rather than give up on her mission, however, Maxi quickly came up with a new plan. She wandered over to a family standing closer to the counter and calmly sat beside them, making it look as though she had decided to join a new family, at least until she got her ice cream.
Her owner perfectly captured the hilarious moment with the caption: “Now hiring: a new family for my dog. Position may already be filled.” Maxi’s antics made one thing clear: she was determined to find the quickest possible route to her frozen treat. While her family patiently waited their turn, the clever pup appeared far more interested in finding the best possible spot near the counter.
Maxi’s unexpected strategy quickly won over viewers, who found plenty of humor in the Golden Retriever’s food-driven determination. One user wrote, “I always say these dogs would always choose food over family.”
Another simply called her “a cutie,” while a viewer joked, “She wanted the ice cream. Princess Maxi doesn’t wait in long lines.” Someone else approved of her approach, writing, “Good thinking! Hope it tasted good.” Another viewer summed up Maxi’s clever attempt perfectly, commenting, “Used 100% of that little brain.”
