A newly renovated bedroom for an eight-year-old has everything a kid could want, including a reading nook that Popcorn has already decided belongs to him too. In the video shared by @popcornthelab, the Labrador is already tucked under the little canopy while his human sits nearby reading, looking completely at home in a space that was supposed to be hers. There is a toy in his paws, plenty of room to stretch out, and, most importantly, a perfect view of his kid. The family may have created the room for their daughter, but Popcorn seems to have found the one corner he has no intention of giving back.
Dog claims the child’s new reading nook as his favorite spot while keeping her constantly in sight
The room belongs to the eight-year-old, but Popcorn seems to have misunderstood that part. Mom starts the video by showing off the renovated space. She informs us that it was created so her daughter could have her own room for the first time. There are plenty of sweet little touches to notice, including a guitar in the corner, a bunk bed with a study area underneath, and a canopy beside the dresser. Mom explains that this is the reason her daughter has been in there “a LOT” this past week
Then comes the best detail. Popcorn is sitting underneath the canopy. And the text on screen says, “…Aaaaand so has Popcorn,” while he looks toward Mom for a moment before getting back to his toy. His own supposed reaction? “Welcome to my crib.”
To be honest, he looks pretty pleased with the arrangement. There’s also a closer look at the Labrador hanging out in the cozy corner while his little human reads nearby. The text calls him “a pretty little princess in his reading nook.” And Popcorn certainly does not appear interested in giving up the spot.
There is also something very sweet about where he has chosen to settle. He is close to his girl, but he has enough room to chew on his toy and relax. Eventually, Popcorn picks up his toy and wanders toward Mom. Mom asks what he is doing in there before inviting him to come along for breakfast.
The video has picked up 5.3K likes at the time of writing. Viewers immediately started saying that Popcorn had decided the room was shared property. One commenter summed it up perfectly: “Popcorn said you mean our crib!” Sharing is indeed caring.
