Shelter Dog at Risk of Losing Everything Leaves Human With Lingering Questions Nobody Can Answer

Miller, a five-year-old shelter dog in Georgia, faces euthanasia after spending weeks waiting for someone to take him home. Sadly, rescuers know very little about him because he has never lived in a foster home. Miller weighs around 60 pounds and reportedly gets along with other dogs. However, he has spent most of his time in a kennel, so rescuers have not had the chance to learn much about his personality.

Shelter dog up for adoption or foster makes human realize something heartbreaking

A recent plea for Miller started with a sad reality: rescuers had very little personal information to share about him. That does not mean Miller lacks the qualities to become a loving companion. Instead, no one has given him a foster home where they could get to know him better. Miller has stayed at Fulton County Animal Services in Atlanta, Georgia, since July 4.

Staff know his age, weight, and that he gets along with other dogs, but they still know very little about his personality. No one knows his favorite toy or whether he likes cuddling on the couch. They also do not know if he becomes playful once he feels comfortable, enjoys car rides, or likes following his person around the house.

The situation has become more urgent because Miller now faces euthanasia. He has spent a long time waiting for someone to notice him. The rescue plea says Miller deserves a chance to become more than just a name and kennel number.

A foster family or an adopter could give him a safe, loving home where he can show his true personality. Miller is currently available for foster or adoption through Fulton County Animal Services in Atlanta.

The emotional shelter dog adoption plea by @jessicas_foster_tails prompted viewers to call for someone to step forward before Miller runs out of time. One user wrote, “Let’s get this baby a forever home.” Another shared their hope for the dog, writing, “I hope this cutie patootie lives.” One viewer addressed him by name with a message of support: “Oh Miller!”
