Mama Rescue Dog & Her Babies Were Once Out of Time, Until Life Took an Unexpected Turn

Kiara looks completely at home in her foster mom, Laurel’s, arms, which makes the first line of her story almost impossible to believe: this whole family was once only hours from being euthanized. Now the mama rescue dog has her babies tucked safely around her, with plenty of cuddles, soft beds, and very attentive humans making up their days.

In the video shared by @mythologicaldogs, Kiara nurses her puppies, accepts chest scratches, and even tries to sneak a kiss onto Laurel’s face. After everything they almost lost, this is a much happier routine to watch unfold.

The video opens with Kiara leaning back against Laurel as they cuddle on the couch. The on-screen text explains that the entire family had been only hours away from euthanasia when they were rescued. Laurel scratches Kiara’s chest, and Kiara looks toward the camera while staying tucked comfortably against her.

Then come the puppies, including one sleepy little pup getting cuddles from Laurel’s partner. Back in the whelping tub, Kiara nurses her babies while enjoying more gentle chest scratches. She seems especially pleased with all the attention, even reaching up to put a paw on Laurel’s shoulder and trying to kiss her face in the next clip.

The puppies have plenty of energy, too. Once they are all awake, they get teething toys and start doing what puppies do best: keeping everybody busy. Later, Kiara settles on the living room floor beside Laurel’s partner, looking completely content to be surrounded by people who care about her.

One of the sweetest moments comes when Kiara sleeps nose-to-nose with a puppy. Another pup notices the cuddle happening and quickly decides that being left out is not an option.
