Mama Dog & Her Babies Look So Helpless in a Kennel, Unaware Fate Has Other Plans for Them

It didn’t take long to see this family was having a really hard day. In the video shared by @thepoochproject, a tired mama shelter dog lies listless beside her tiny babies. She barely lifts her head as the camera moves closer. Still recovering from an emergency C-section, she barely has the energy to do anything except keep an eye on her two newborn puppies curled up beside her. At that point, it still looked like another heartbreaking shelter story, but things were about to change in the best possible way.

Most of the video is simply the mama resting on a blanket inside her kennel, still looking worn out after giving birth. The two tiny black puppies are curled tightly against her neck, looking impossibly small. On-screen text explains the heartbreaking situation. The puppies were only about three days old, and because their mom wasn’t nursing after surgery, they urgently needed bottle feeding and a rescue commitment before time ran out.

The surviving puppy was rescued by @hecticpaws, an organization experienced in caring for fragile bottle babies. And the mother found an adopter ready to give her a fresh start. One of the puppies sadly didn’t survive, which made everyone even more grateful that the remaining little one was safely rescued.
