A senior shelter dog should not spend his golden days on a concrete floor. This Instagram video tells the heartbreaking story of 8-year-old Gucci, who was surrendered. He lived with his previous owner for seven years before they sent him to the shelter.
In the clip, it is evident that the pup finds it difficult to walk on the concrete floor. He has been hoping for someone to bring him home before it’s too late. Gucci has been at the kennel for over 465 days now.
Shelter dog spending golden days on a concrete kennel floor is up for adoption
In a heartbreaking dog video on Instagram, Gucci, an 8-year-old terrier mix, lives his golden days on the shelter’s concrete floor. The clip begins with the pup approaching his kennel door, where he notices the uploader. He gets up from his bed and slowly walks towards them. While his eyes are fixed on the person, his legs appear to tremble as he walks on the hard surface.
On the screen, the volunteer mentions that concrete floors are not meant for “older” dogs. “After 465 days Gucci is still waiting for someone,” they add. Meanwhile, the caption states that the pup lived with his owner for seven years. He has already been adapted to live in a house with family but with children over 12.
Furthermore, Gucci is a loving and loyal dog who seems to be waiting for the right home. “He is house-trained, knows basic commands, and is looking to be your one and only dog,” the caption reads. Meanwhile, viewers have also reacted to the post, offering support to the shelter dog.
The pup is up for adoption. He is described as “incredibly affectionate with people, offering sweet eye contact and happily showing off his skills like sit, stay, paw, and drop it.” Since the upload, the video has garnered over 1K likes as of this writing.
