Seven-year-old Marcos barely moves or acknowledges visitors at Indianapolis Animal Care Services these days. He just stares listlessly at the floor with his favorite chew toy resting completely untouched by his side. A dedicated volunteer named Jessica noticed his deep sadness and immediately shared his story to find him a forever home.
Shelter dog needs a loving family beyond kennel life
The short video shows Marcos lying flat on his blanket without any energy left. Marcos does not even lift his head when people walk directly past his kennel to view another shelter dog. This listless behavior is unusual because a typical shelter pup often craves human contact. He looks entirely defeated as he glances around his small living space without a shred of excitement.
The lack of movement makes it evident that he is slowly giving up on finding a real family. From the comments under the video, we learn that he was either adopted or fostered, and so he did experience a taste of the good life. However, he was returned to the rescue facility seven weeks ago as the arrangement unfortunately fell through.
