The video stitches together two moments years apart, and the hug in both scenes is almost identical. At first, the dog and his human friend are little babies, but footage from years later shows them all grown up and still in love.

The video begins with the Golden Retriever curled up on the couch next to a tiny human, while the on-screen text explains, “They were once 5 months and 1 year old,” where Murphy is pressed right up against the baby. Meanwhile, the baby easily lets the dog hover over her, as if she knows she can trust him.
Then the video jumps forward, showing the tiny human as a preschooler in a red dress and long hair who throws her arms around the Golden Retriever’s neck in a wholesome bear hug. He tucks his chin over her shoulder and puts his weight into her, as if he is melting into the hug. The on-screen text reads, “Now they’re 4 and almost 5 ??.”
