Dogs are curious creatures, and they love collecting things that catch their attention. Unfortunately for many owners, socks often end up at the top of that list. What starts as one missing pair can quickly turn into a small mystery around the house. That mystery finally unraveled in a video by @brewthegoldenn when a Golden Retriever‘s hidden sock stash was discovered behind the couch cushions.
Golden Retriever surprises owners with ‘hidden stash’ behind couch pillows
The clip begins with Brew’s owner explaining that she was cleaning the couch when something unusual caught her eye. While moving the cushions and looking behind the pillows, she noticed a pile of items hidden deep in the corner. To her surprise, the stash contained around 20 different pairs of socks that had been carefully tucked away.
The text on the video reads, “We found our golden retriever’s hidden stash,” as the camera pans over the unexpected collection. Not far from the scene of the crime stands Brew himself. The Golden Retriever can be seen wagging his tail enthusiastically while his owners react to the discovery.
Despite being caught red-handed, Brew doesn’t appear the least bit bothered. At one point, he even picks up one of the socks in his mouth while his owner jokingly comments that he could at least pretend not to be guilty. In the caption accompanying the post, the owner wrote, “He’s in SO much trouble,” though Brew’s cheerful attitude suggests he may not fully understand the seriousness of the situation.
The video has since attracted plenty of amused reactions from viewers, many of whom shared their own playful theories about Brew’s sock collection. One commenter joked that Brew actually looked just as surprised as his owners to see the large pile of socks, suggesting he might be innocent after all.
Another person humorously claimed Brew was simply doing his job with the household laundry. Someone else pointed out that while the owners may have a sock drawer, Brew clearly prefers a “sock couch.” Another viewer added that the dog was probably just preparing to help match the pairs later.
