Dog keeps stolen item close in funny video
In the video, one of the Newfoundlands, Lou, makes it very clear that possession is nine-tenths of the law. Listed as a public figure profile, the bio reads: “2 Newfoundlands and a Corgi,” with links to mybrownnewfies.com and additional pages. The footage opens with Lou lying comfortably on the floor, a slipper clamped between his paws. His large, fluffy frame nearly engulfs the shoe, making it look even smaller in comparison.
On-screen text reads: “Trying to recover the slipper my dog stole.” Behind the camera, his owner attempts to retrieve the footwear. But Lou doesn’t budge. Instead, he tightens his grip and subtly shifts his weight over the slipper, shielding it like a prized possession. The caption drives the point home: “Finders keepers.”
Viewers wasted no time rallying behind the fluffy “thief.” One commenter wrote, “That’s his slipper now! The color even brings out his coat.” Another joked, “Hope you have one special tasty treat handy!” A third added, “LMAO! Lou says, it’s mine now! Good luck, get away from me!”” And someone else summed it up: “Lou’s not a leave-it kind of guy. Shoes..socks.. they’re all fair game!”
Newfoundlands have a reputation for being gentle giants, but they also possess a famously stubborn streak. Lou embodies that personality trait flawlessly in this clip. Newfoundlands are large, powerful working dogs. They have a big, broad head, a deep chest, and very large paws. People often call them “Newfies,” and they are known as some of the sweetest and most loving dogs.
