Some dogs grow up learning that life is hard. And then there’s Bowie. This Golden Retriever video from @thegoldenboy_bowie opens with his mom walking into the living room and immediately realizing she’s stumbled into something important—a full spa massage appointment already in progress.
Bowie is sitting upright on the floor, leaning back into his dad’s legs like a human who booked the premium package. Front paws dangling. Back legs are completely gone. Face relaxed into that soft, goofy smile that says, yeah, this is goooood.
Golden Retriever is a bit too relaxed while receiving a massage from the owner
In the video, you can see that the Golden Retriever’s dad is fully committed to the massage. You can’t call this casual petting. This is healing with intention. We’re talking face-lifting motions. Gentle forehead strokes, like he’s erasing stress Bowie never actually had. Bowie doesn’t move. He just lets it happen. Trusts the process. At one point, his ears fold and stretch like warm dough, and he looks like he might actually ascend.
Then the hands move down to his chest, and Bowie briefly tucks his limbs in, like a polite little pause. And then. Total surrender again. Melted. One comment asks how he’s even comfortable sitting like that, which is fair, because his spine appears optional. But one look at his face and you can’t doubt his level of comfort.
Another viewer says spoiled isn’t the right word; it’s simply what he deserves in life. Cannot argue with that point. The in-video text says “POV: you walk in on the most spoiled family member,” and yes. Correct. King behavior only. And when it’s his turn, even Bowie likes to smother his dad in massage, errr, we mean affection.
Someone else calls it an amazing massage. Another just says they’re happy for him. Same. And the thing is, this Golden Retriever video works because Bowie fully believes this massage treatment is normal. Daily, even. Like, of course, your dad gives you a full massage that makes you feel like a brand new dog. Why wouldn’t he? Life is good. And Bowie knows it.
