Video: Dog Is ‘Mad’ at Her Dad for Going to Sleep Without Giving Her Scratches

A dog named Lili had one simple request before bedtime — scratches, and an Instagram video from @dash_and_furrious shows that the Corgi did not get what she came for. In the video, Lili sits right next to her dad on the bed and locks in with a passionate stare. Her dad is already out cold, but the Corgi sits there, as if filing an official complaint, as every so often she lets out a small, grumbly growl to make her point.

Dog is ‘mad’ after dad goes to sleep early

The video’s on-screen caption spells out Lili’s anger as she continues waiting for scratches: “My dog is mad at her dad for going to sleep without giving her scritches.” And honestly, the anger is valid. As the post caption puts it, “How dare he sleep.”

While the dog continues to stare and growl, her mom tries to keep the peace and softly whispers, “Your dad is sleeping,” but Lili does not care. She keeps staring as though trying to wake him up with her mind. The next clip shows dad, who is still asleep, has pulled Lili into his arms, and though you can mostly see her back, she continues to growl on and off, sounding still mad even while her dad is now cuddling her.

Dogs learn patterns fast. If scratches usually happen at a certain time, skipping them can feel like someone forgot the rules, so Lili’s little growl is more like sass and protest than real aggression — kind of like her version of, “Excuse me, I’m still waiting.”

In the comments, viewers sided with Lili. One person called it, “The most relatable corgi content Ive ever seen,” while another warned the dad, “Sleepy time is over.” A third user noted the Corgi’s mood with, “Ugh just rudeeee.”

In the video, the dog dad may have fallen asleep without giving the dog her due scratches, but Lili managed to send the message across: bedtime does not begin until she gets her scritches.
