Some moments in life are sad, and some are funny. Then there are ones that are surprisingly both. A viral video of a mini Dachshund trying and adorably failing to fit on his beloved bed has become a favorite online.

Every furbaby has that one childhood item that they cling to. A ball that has seen better days, a blankie, or, in this case, a pizza bed that has unfortunately not kept up with the mini Dachshund Wally from @wallyandkirby’s growth rate.
The video starts with the little guy trotting over to his cheesy sanctuary. One can practically see the nostalgia hitting his face as he stands on top of his bed. But he soon realizes that his comfort space is not feeling so comfortable anymore.
He tries his best. Trying to see if maybe a right angle will make him fit on the bed. He also tries the ‘if my face fits, the rest of the body should fit as well’ approach. However, he adorably fails. The fault clearly lies with the pizza bed, as it did not keep up with Wally’s growth, visibly upsetting him.
What makes the video even more adorable is the look on his face throughout the video. His eyes are confused. He looks as if he has been betrayed. Trying to understand how something so familiar and comforting stopped fitting into his world. The clip also jumps back to when Wally was just a puppy, seamlessly fitting on his beloved pizza bed.
Fans in the comments section just could not hold back their emotions. One comment read, “Get that sweet boy a bigger pizza before the whole Internet starts crying.” A user added, “He does look heartbroken.”
But at its core, the video signifies a sweet message. One that highlights how it feels when one suddenly realizes that being a grown-up also means giving up parts of your sweet childhood.
