Video: Owner Shows How Dog’s Green & Red Flags Are Equally Adorable

Calling out red flags is the internet’s latest obsession, from bad texting habits to pineapple on pizza. But now, the trend has gone to the dogs, literally. An Instagram user gave her dog the red and green flag treatment in a video that hilariously calls out his best traits, along with the kind of behaviors that would get him ghosted if he were a human. Luckily, he’s not. He’s just Fingers, a goofy pup, and he might just be more emotionally available than most people.

Owner reveals their dog’s green and red flags in Instagram video

Fingers the Goldador stars in an Instagram video that humorously breaks down his best and worst traits. Using the popular “red and green flag” format, Fingers’ owner lists various personality traits with on-screen text, paired with clips of him acting them out in real time. The video starts on a positive note: “Green flag: doesn’t run if you drop the leash,” the text reads, while Fingers calmly stays put. However, the next shot quickly adds, “Red flag: thinks the leash is a snack sometimes,” along with footage of a noticeably chewed-up leash.

It’s this back-and-forth rhythm that makes the video so fun. One scene shows Fingers running eagerly toward the camera with the overlay, “Green flag: comes when called.” Just as viewers start to admire his obedience, the next frame reveals, “Red flag: has no brakes so will run into you,” as he barrels straight into the owner.

Fingers’ food habits also got the dual treatment. On one hand, he won’t touch food unless his owner gives the go-ahead. On the other hand, he’s not above diving into trash if left unsupervised. The video wraps with a clip of Fingers playing with a small dog. “Green flag: loves small dogs,” the screen reads. This is quickly followed by, “Red flag: thinks they are hurdles he can leap over,” as Fingers attempts an overenthusiastic jump.

Instagram users wasted no time adopting Fingers as their new favorite chaotic good boy. “I might be red/green colour blind cause it seems all good to me,” one person wrote. Another said, “The best of us have our own flaws,” while someone else simply added, “Haha so cute! I love all the flags.”
