Corgi Escapes Puddle Walks Thanks To ‘Creative Solutions’ From Owner

Rainy days can be a hassle for both pet parents and their pups. While some dogs don’t mind a little mud and water, others treat puddles like impassable obstacles. In fact, for small breeds like Corgis, who already have short legs and long bodies, even a shallow puddle can feel like a mini lake. One dog owner has turned this common walking challenge into a hilarious viral video featuring their picky Corgi and a series of over-the-top, yet oddly practical, solutions.

Owner finds different ways Corgi can escape puddle during walks in viral video

As per a new video of Nola, the Pembroke Welsh Corgi has been facing an ongoing puddle crisis during her daily walks. Her owner, well aware of the pup’s aversion to wet paws, decided to tackle the problem head-on and documented the effort in a now-viral video. The clip opens with a text that reads, “Creative solutions to the puddle that’s wreaking havoc on Nola’s walks.”

Standing next to her sibling, another Corgi named Hashbrown, Nola appears frozen in front of a small puddle while their owner holds the leash. From there, the video cycles through four increasingly amusing attempts by the owner to help Nola get around the dreaded water.

First, the owner carries Nola in a backpack across the puddle while Hashbrown confidently walks through. Next, the owner attempts to remove the problem altogether. In a surprisingly committed effort, they use a container to scoop water out of the puddle, essentially trying to drain it so Nola won’t have to deal with it at all.

The third idea in the video involves crafting a small bridge with a wooden plank so the Corgi can walk over the puddle instead of through it. And for the final “solution,” perhaps the most relatable of all is skipping the walk altogether. The video ends with Nola stretched out on the floor at home, clearly unbothered and dry.

Viewers in the comments enjoyed the video and Nola’s dramatic stance. “I believe you’re supposed to put your cloak down over the puddle, so that the royal feet may walk upon it,” one person joked. Another said, “Solution 2 and 4 are clearly the most practical.” A fan of Hashbrown chimed in, “Hashbrown was like ‘dude! That’s my puddle!’”
