Video: Rescue Puppy Thinks He’s a Cat & Does Something That Leaves Owner Shocked

There’s something about puppies that makes them think they can do absolutely anything. One moment they’re chewing your shoe, the next they’re scaling furniture like they’ve trained for a spy mission. Some even seem to believe they are not dogs at all. That was certainly the case for one bold Labradoodle puppy who, in a new Instagram video, attempted to channel his inner cat, with predictably awkward results.

Instagram video shows puppy doing a balancing act and failing at it

A 17-week-old Labradoodle puppy named Bodhi is winning hearts on Instagram after trying — and failing — to act like a cat. In a video posted to his account, @bodhiandthebeasts, the rescue pup is seen attempting to balance on a narrow window sill, just like a cat might. His tiny paws shuffle cautiously as he takes a few uncertain steps. However, his sense of balance doesn’t quite match his ambition, and within seconds, Bodhi takes a clumsy tumble.

His owner, who is filming the moment, gasps in alarm and lets out a quick scream. Fortunately, Bodhi lands safely and pops up quickly, flashing his owner a wide-eyed, innocent look, as if nothing had happened. Text on the screen humorously reads, “POV: Your dog thinks he’s a cat.” Reassuring viewers, Bodhi’s owner adds in the post’s caption, “Don’t worry, he was okay.”

Labradoodles like Bodhi are known for being affectionate, smart, and just a little mischievous. A cross between a Labrador Retriever and a Poodle, they are especially popular for their low-shedding coats and easygoing, family-friendly nature. But no matter the breed, puppies are curious by nature and full of energy. At just a few months old, dogs like Bodhi are still learning the ropes, figuring out what they can (and can’t) do. Whether they’re trying to leap like a cat or wedge themselves into tight spaces, it’s all part of the learning process. And that sometimes includes a few clumsy tumbles along the way.
