However, her skills failed her this time around, but it made for an adorably hilarious moment.
Instagram video shows Golden Retriever unable to hide her stolen treasure
Golden Retriever Remy tried her best to be sneaky but wasn’t quite successful. In an Instagram video, her parents captured her stealing a white household item, most likely a ball, and hiding it in her mouth. While she may have thought that her job was neatly done, the owners had quite the opposite reaction. Although they discovered that their pet was clearly hiding the object, they played along with her to join in on the fun and make a cherished memory.
The Instagram video began with Remy hiding her stolen treasure in her mouth, all while sitting comfortably on the sofa with her blanket. Her dad, who was recording her antics, asked her about the hidden item. But he was met with a static response from the Golden Retriever, who stayed calm and composed to maintain her heist. However, the owner soon called her out indirectly, referring to her actions as “not suspicious.”
When Remy realized that her initial response wasn’t working, she deployed another arrow in her quiver. She started avoiding eye contact with her dad when he asked if he was “sleeping” or “snoozing.” The Golden Retriever then shifted her gaze towards her mother in hopes of the latter saving her. However, her mom also enquired about the object.
Upon realizing that her moves weren’t successful, Remy gazed into space for as long as possible. Eventually, her owners gave up on uncovering her heist. Instead of recognizing the stolen item, her dad said, “That’s just her teeth…pearly whites.”
Meanwhile, netizens also defended the Golden Retriever in the comments section. Many claimed that they didn’t see anything that Remy could’ve stolen. A few others agreed that it was just her bright “pearly white” teeth.
