Video: Dog Misses Breakfast & Pulls the Best Expression

According to dog logic, if something goes wrong, it’s almost always the human’s fault. Didn’t throw the ball far enough? That’s on you. Took too long to come back from the store? Unforgivable. Dinner served three minutes late? Grounds for emotional distress. So, when a sleepy Golden Retriever woke up to find breakfast was already over, she did what any self-respecting pup would do — shot her owner a look that said, “You’ve got some explaining to do.”

Instagram video shows Golden Retriever missing breakfast pulling a funny face

Instagram user @daisythegoldiee posted a short video featuring her dog, Daisy, who apparently missed her usual breakfast. The reel shows Daisy sleepily making her way down the stairs, clearly just waking up.

About halfway down, she suddenly stops and turns her head to glare at her owner with a look that says everything. Her eyes squint slightly, her ears are low, and her face is the perfect mix of sleepy confusion and subtle accusation. The expression is so human-like and exaggerated that it’s hard not to laugh.

The clip’s on-screen text adds to the humor, with the owner jokingly asking viewers, “Am I in trouble?” According to the caption, Daisy missed breakfast because she overslept, but her look suggests she’s not taking responsibility. Instead, she seems to be silently blaming her owner for daring to move on without her.

Daisy’s unforgettable breakfast face racked up over 667K views and 65K likes, drawing a crowd who loved her dramatic vibe. One user quipped, “She doesn’t look pleased with your performance today,” while another said, “Now this is my kinda golden, unimpressed.” And someone else nailed the situation, writing, “Excuse me mam, it’s daisy’s schedule she’s not late you were early period.”

Adult dogs typically need two meals per day — once in the morning and once in the evening. The amount of food varies depending on the dog’s size, breed, age, and activity level, but on average, a medium to large dog like a Golden Retriever might eat between 2 to 3 cups of high-quality dry food daily. Missing a meal can throw them off, even if it’s their fault for sleeping in, though, as Daisy shows us, they might still act like it’s yours.
