A viral Instagram video captured an English Mastiff puppy named Daisy forming a deep bond with the family’s senior Labrador, Izzy. The clip began with the pup lying down beside her older sibling, trying to get her attention. Izzy, who was comfortably cozy in her blanket, was visibly confused by the new member. This interaction was only the beginning of a story that tugged at netizens’ heartstrings.
Daisy was excited to have a new friend in her life, but Izzy, however, didn’t initially echo her sister’s feelings. As the two dogs wandered around the house, it was clear the senior dog couldn’t match Daisy’s energy. Although the Labrador was initially unsure, her baby sister “worked her magic,” and things started looking better. The puppy did her best to shower her elder sibling with kisses and loving pats, which proved to be successful.
Daisy wouldn’t leave Izzy’s side, with a video capturing the puppy, quite literally, plopping on her big sister. The English Mastiff’s journey to win over the Labrador wasn’t an easy one. Although she faced rejection several times, the pup didn’t give up. Eventually, Izzy “started acting younger and calmer around the family more.” She also started allowing Daisy to get close to her and ensured they were together even when their parents left home for work.
In another video, the owners shared that Izzy lost her “other half,” but the Mastiff reminded her “what it’s like to have a friend again.” Daisy truly transformed Izzy’s life in more ways than one.
