If there is one thing Golden Retriever Lucie knows best, it’s making the most unique sounds while undertaking mundane activities. Owner Cara Louise Owens took to Instagram to share a video of her 7-year-old dog running down the stairs. Before the dog sprung into action, the parent requested that netizens “take a moment to listen to Lucie running down the stairs.”
Ownens, who stood at the bottom of the stairs, called out to Lucie, who stood on top. As soon as the dog heard the word “come” from her parent, she rushed down the stairs. With every step, she let out a never-heard-before noise that left both the owner and netizens in splits. After successfully making it down the stairs, Lucie did a little victory jump that made the moment funny yet adorable.
The highlight of the viral video, aside from Lucie’s funny noises, was her cat sibling Kevin. The feline was effortlessly camouflaged with the stairs carpet as her dog sister passed by. The cat also intently observes Lucie’s noises, adding to the wholesomeness of the clip. Meanwhile, the video won the internet’s hearts, amassing over 363K likes.
Some netizens found the seven-year-old’s antics and unexpected sounds adorable, while a few others laughingly noticed the cat sitting on the sidelines. One even went on to call Kevin the “stair guard.” Calling Lucie their “vocal gal,” the owner confessed to there being “endless entertainment” with the dog around.
In October 2024, Lucie celebrated her seventh birthday, but it did not come without its hurdles. In an Instagram post marking her celebrations, Owens revealed that the dog had to have abdominal surgery after swallowing a “spikey cocktail stick.” The owner, however, assured her followers that the pet is keeping well.
