A German Border Collie named Rico, who was born in 1994 and lives in Germany, boasts a vocabulary of 200 simple words, according to animal psychologists at the Max Planck Institute. All of the words he’s memorized are the names of his toys. His owners started his training–and vast toy collection–when he was 10-months-old and forced to stay inside for a short while.
