Thinking about fostering an adoptable dog?
Before you start fostering it's also important you have all the necessary supplies. A quick visit to a pet store can get you everything you'll need. I found that out with the first animal I fostered. I had forgotten to get a litterbox! Luckily, it was easily remedied. ( http://aquaworldpittsburgh.com )

Can the Michael Vick dogs be saved? At Best Friends, the answer is yes
This was really interesting, I skipped some of it. But I would really like to hear more about Timmy and the girl that drove him home. It sounds like a really cool place! I am so sad about how all these animals are abused every single SECOND! About 10 million are being abused right now. (I think that is right.)

Feeding people food to dogs
I don’t feed my dogs people food because even if a certain ingredient is in their dog food, it may only be a small amount and too much might not be good for them. I’m not a dog nutritionist so I leave it to the experts and only feed a natural dog food I can trust with ingredients I know are good like real meat as the first ingredient and also with blueberries, garbanzo beans, etc. in the mix. My dogs don’t do well with grains so we feed Alpha (natural balance) but each dog is different.

How to train a dog to live outside the house?
I have a chocolate lab approx. 7 years old. My husband adopted him 41/2 yrs ago before he got married. Since then, he only live inside the house except going for walk. The dog doesn't like to go out to the backyard nor anywhere by himself.
I need to train him to live outside the house in a kennel because I have extremely allergy to dog. Does anyone out there can share information how to train him to live outside the house?
Thanks.

Is it ok to beat your dog when training it?
i just got a new dog and would like to know if beating when it does something bad is the only effective way to train it?
ok if theres one thing I hate, its a dog that doesn't listen. If my dog starts doing something like scratching at a door, what alternatives are there other than yelling at it and hitting it? If I do that, then he'll associate me yelling at him with pain. Then hopefully the next time he does some... (continued)

Dominance: Dog training's dirty word
My 4 month old black lab has alot of energy. Sometimes, after a walk, during a walk or when just playing in the backyard he will stop, look at me then basically "atttack" me... He jumps up starts biting at me. I have tried the "ignoring" thing and the "rolling on the back and "muzzling" thing as well, he reacts better to the dominance roll. Any suggestions?

Training a territorial dog
My husband and I have rescued a 10 month old dog about 2 1/2 months ago. He was very timid around us at first, and did not know how to be a pet. We think he is a german shepherd-husky mix (source: vet) We had him on a leash in the house a lot at the beginning to show him it is safe and okay to be with us. He is SUCH a different dog now! He loves my husband and I and enjoys playing with other dogs. We have noti... (continued)
