Caring for canine colitis
My 6.5 lb 2 yr old maltese has recurrent colitis. We treat with metronidazole for 10 day course along with consistent bland home-cooked diet of rice, chicken,green beans, boiled eggs, fiber supplement. Also giving imodium & pepcid per vet's dosing. She gets better after 3-4 days on the met, then by the end of the 10 day dose, she gets back to normal. Last 3 months has gone immediately back into colitis after 5 or... (continued)
