Importance of starting training early

I have fostered dogs for a variety of canine rescues over the past several years. It is truly unfortunate that some pets are not viewed as true family members so end up having aggression and behavior problems. Smaller breeds require the same level of discipline as lager breeds or same issues arise. If formal training is not a viable option due to expense there are many different avenues of training available. I f... (continued)

Microchips for Dogs

My yorkie is a teacup and she is just over 4months old and weighs 2.5lb. I am worried as my vet seems to think as she has little fat around where the chip will go, that maybe I should wait. I am going to France soon and need to take her. Is there anyone with advice. They also told me it would hurt her as its a big needle!!! Thanks. Julie

Dog Car Sickness

Every time my 8 month old puppy goes on a car ride, he vomits. If we're lucky it's clear & mucousy. Usually we're not. I find it true that if he's looking out the window, that's when the sickness usually occurs. If he's muzzled on my lap, not looking around but resting instead, he tends to be fine. He's a multiple puker, too. Poor puppy.

Dog Car Sickness

Young puppies get carsick because all they can feel is the motion of the car but they arent really big enough to see what's really going on outside the vehicle. This is something they eventually grow out of but when they are puppies, they are basically just very sensitive to this kind of thing. It's comparable to a human baby, when they are young they are extremely sensitive, but as they grow up they grow out of their sensitivities.
