When to muzzle your dog
I Recently had a 3 year old German Shepherd taken away from me and killed by the City of Ogden, Ogden, Utah He was playing with my children in the yard and bit a couple children....not bad bites kinda nips but did break the skin...so had to be quarantined for 10 days...that made him so crazy!!!...when I picked him up out of quarantine the Animal Services said I had to have a muzzle on him at all times...except in the house!! Is this appropriate for his playing around??

Solutions for barking
i had a dog that barked but i taught him to have a quiet bark as well as limited barking...he has since passed away...i now have a rescue American foxhound...whoever hurt her hurt the bark/howl out of her...in her occasional nightmares she growls or whimpers...although it is "nice" to have a quiet pooch i wish she would bark or howl as a normal dog...but she is old and i doubt she will ever bark/howl again...believe it or not i try to get her to give a bark but to no avail

Barking
I have tried everything with my now 6yr old Maltese/Min Pinch to try to control his barking, particularly when out on a walk. On walks he starts off barking and should he see someone or another dog it becomes almost uncontrollable. We have tried training, bark collars, natural calming treats and even resorted to trying prescription meds. Although things have helped at times, nothing seems to really resolve the problem. It makes walks not enjoyable for either of us.

Dominance: Dog training's dirty word
My 4 month old black lab has alot of energy. Sometimes, after a walk, during a walk or when just playing in the backyard he will stop, look at me then basically "atttack" me... He jumps up starts biting at me. I have tried the "ignoring" thing and the "rolling on the back and "muzzling" thing as well, he reacts better to the dominance roll. Any suggestions?

My dog barks non-stop in the car
That was such a helpful article for me. I have the exact same problem and now I have a solution. I don't want to leave Sunny at home. I love having a companion in the car but the barking is just too much to take. I will definetely try the crate TODAY!

Dog Barking
I have a friend who wants to give up her pekingese because she barks to much when people come in, or if you leave the room and come back in. at other dogs etc. I was thinking about taking the dog but I am concerned about the barking. the dog is 9 years old is it to late to change its behavior. ?

maltese/shih tzu mix ~ dental
my little girl is four years old and up until about 6 months ago, i brushed her teeth at least 3-4 times a week. now, i only get to do it maybe once a week. well, the left side is really starting to look bad aroundf her gumline. i am a certified vet tech so i do know the benefits and such of performing dentals and taking care of their teeth. i just want to do anything other than a dental at this time bc it is not b... everytime my boyfriend and I hug or kiss our dog barks like crazy and she wont stop, she also barks at me when im playing with our child its like shes jealous. shes an only dog and has never been around other dogs. what do i do???

Dog training: Walking on-leash
I trained my 2 year old chihuahua/jack russel terrior mix to potty by taking him out on a leash 3 times a day. Now, I would like to untrain him to go in the backyard and take him once daily on a long walk. How do I pull this off. He insists on holding his stuff until I leash him and walk him. He will not let anyone else walk him either.
