How to shop for a dog

Dog food, collars, and leashes--that's the easy stuff. Ever had to shop for pet steps to help your little and/or elderly dog reach you on the couch? Or a water bowl that refills itself? Or how about a jacket that'll warm up shivering dogs in the coldest clime?
