Dear Labby: what's in a dog's name?
Dear Labby,
The only information my girlfriend and I ever got about our adopted Yorkshire Terrier is that someone brought him to the shelter after he was hit by a motorcycle. (He’s fine now.) We call him Harley. Recently, a friend told me we have a twisted sense of humor for giving the dog that name. We love the dog and know that if it wasn’t for the motorcycle, he probably wouldn’t be in our lives. Does calling him Harley show disrespect?

Dear Selected Epithet for Yorkie Meaning Only Utmost Respect but Buddy (Upsettingly) Thinks That’s Sick:
Good thing it wasn’t a moving-van accident. He could’ve ended up with U-Haul or Just Ship It on his tags.
Let me ask you this, S.E.Y.M.O.U.R. B.U.T.T.S.: Did you mean disrespect when you gave the dog his name? Is he treated with love and kindness? Do you look both ways before you cross the street during doggie walks? If you answered yes to these questions, you have nothing to worry about.
And if people ask why you call the dog Harley, tell them you were going to name him Yamaha, but you didn’t want people to assume he plays the keyboard.

My rescued Chihuahua didn't have a very upbringing, so I'm afraid that he may suddenly snap at the next person who gets too close. How should I handle the situation?
