The human was deeply moved by Lucuma’s devotion and even thanked her beloved furry friend for staying by her side. However, what truly broke her heart was learning how Lucuma behaved after she was taken to the hospital.

In a “Tissue Alert” dog video shared on Instagram, a devoted Golden Retriever named Lucuma struggles to cope after her dog mom falls seriously ill. The touching clip shows the 5-year-old pup staying close to her human while she is in pain, before becoming visibly distressed when she is taken away.
The caption reads, “The unconditional love dogs have for us is truly something incredible.” The video opens with the line, “My dog comforted me through the pain… but what she did after shattered my heart.” It then shows Lucuma remaining beside her owner, who is lying on the floor and leaning against the couch.
The concerned pup gently licks her human’s hand as if trying to comfort her, prompting the woman to repeatedly say “thank you” to her companion. The video then takes an emotional turn as Lucuma is seen crying while the woman’s friend attempts to calm her down. On-screen text appears to convey what the heartbroken pup might be thinking.
Lucuma appears worried that her mommy is sick and in severe pain. When her owner is taken away, the text suggests the Golden Retriever is telling her mom’s friend that “they took her away.” The woman later revealed that she had been suffering from excruciating kidney stone pain and was rushed to the ER.
While she was gone, Lucuma continued crying for her. “She couldn’t use words, but she told him everything,” the caption reads. The emotional moment touched thousands of viewers, with many expressing concern for Lucuma in the comments. One user wrote perfectly, “Dogs are the greatest creatures on earth.” The post has since garnered more than 100K likes on Instagram.
