Senior Shelter Dog Has Spent Half His Life Inside a Kennel With Two Heartbreaking Titles

Bruty’s story is breaking hearts after @sharing.lov posted a video from Castoff Pet Rescue in Blairsville, Georgia. The 10-year-old rescue pup has spent half his life waiting behind kennel doors after his family surrendered him. The reel shows his slower steps, grayer face, and quiet returns after special outings. Now, volunteers hope the right person sees him and gives him the home he has missed for years.

Bruty is available for adoption through Castoff Pet Rescue, according to the caption. The post says he arrived on December 8, 2021, after his family surrendered him at age five. No reason was given. Today, Bruty holds two painful titles at the rescue. He is both the oldest resident and the longest resident.

The video begins with the hardest part of his story. Text on-screen says his family surrendered him with no goodbye and no explanation. Then it shows the one bright spot in his routine. A volunteer named Kendall makes sure he still gets walks, car rides, and Doggie Day Out adventures.

For a weekend, Bruty even got to stay in a real home. The clip shows him resting on a bed, lying on a couch, and leaning into soft touches. Those moments looked peaceful. Still, the video explains that every adventure ends with the same return to his kennel.

The reel then shows Bruty sitting behind bars, reaching a paw toward a visitor. Another caption says the person who can change his life might be watching right now. The post notes that he does well with other dogs after proper introductions. He may do best in a quieter home without children.

People filled the comments with hope for him. One wrote, “My favorite thing about him is his little nubby tail.” Another said, “Old dogs are the best!” A third added, “Gorgeous boy Bruty deserves a loving home to live out his golden years.”
