Senior shelter dog who felt completely shut down, rediscovers joy after adoption
In a touching dog video on Instagram, a senior shelter dog named Cloud finds happiness after a human brings him home. According to an on-screen text, the clip features the moment the pet parent “met a 13 year old Senior named Cloud.” Meanwhile, it shows the pup with droopy eyes and low energy.
The owner believed that Cloud felt heartbroken and completely shut down. In the caption, the uploader writes, “One Month since we sprung this 13 year old senior Great Pyrenees from the shelter The moment I saw him, he was so shut down, didn’t get up, didn’t wag his tail.. just laid there like all of his light was gone.”
Seeing his condition, the human didn’t want to leave him alone at the shelter. So, they brought the pup home and soon applied for adoption. “The first 24 hours he was showing progress, he ate his 2 full meals, released his bowels & started prancing in the yard. Cloud may be 13 but when he prances, it’s like he’s 2 again,” the caption states. Within 48 hours, the family brought Cloud home permanently.
The video of the senior shelter dog has touched viewers’ hearts. A user wrote, “You are both champions.” Another commented, “You and Cloud are lucky to have each other,” and requested that the owner share his life updates. Moreover, the post has garnered over 2K likes as of this writing.
