Rescue dog receives encouragement from foster mom before going to adoption event

Merlin, a rescue dog, was all set to attend an adoption event in New York City. And knowing that the pooch might feel a little stressed at the event, his foster mom, Ashley Pelkoski, gave a sweet pep talk to the pup to help him calm down. The social media clip showed Pelkoski calling the rescue pup to inform him about a “very important event” that can help him meet his forever family. Merlin listened to his foster mom patiently and cuddled with her throughout the entire conversation.

The mom said that she knows “it’s scary,” but she will be by his side the whole time. The parent even confessed her love to the rescue dog before advising him to rest at night for a “big day” tomorrow. “Adoption events can be overwhelming for dogs so I wanted to make sure Merlin felt confident and prepared for his big day tomorrow. Dogs understand so much more than we give them credit for! You got this Merlin,” mentioned the mom in the caption.

It seems netizens were all praises for the foster mom. “He’s so lucky to have your patience and love,” said a person. Another individual shared, “He said but you are my home.” A third added, “A lovely cookies & cream milkshake baby.” Some of the pet lovers were even curious about his update. Going by the other videos, it seems Merlin got many adoption applications, but for now, he has been shifted to another foster family.
