Most dogs eventually slow down with age, trading all-out sprints for strolls and longer naps. But now and then, a senior dog reminds everyone that the spirit of puppyhood never really disappears. That’s exactly what happened when Topi, a 12-year-old corgi from Finland, took off across a grassy yard in a burst of excitement that instantly won over social media. His version of the zoomies might be even more lovable.

The video, shared by the Instagram account @topithecorgi, captures Topi enjoying an energetic moment outdoors surrounded by lush greenery and towering trees. As he darts across the lawn, his owner watches in amusement, adding a caption that perfectly sums up the experience: “Watching my 12-year-old senior dog doing zoomies and thinking he’s absolutely flying.”
The corgi runs around the yard with excitement, weaving between trees and briefly disappearing into the wooded area before coming back into view. His short legs move as fast as they can. His excitement makes it clear. That sentiment came through clearly in the video’s caption: “Senior zoomies hit different.”
Topi’s adventures are shared through the popular Instagram account @topithecorgi, which has built a large following. According to the profile bio, Topi was born in 2014 and lives in Finland. The account also features Mona the Aussie, born in 2024, who frequently appears alongside Topi. The bio notes that Topi has visited more than 20 countries, giving followers a glimpse into his adventures around the world.
While Topi’s owner joked that the corgi only thought he was flying, many viewers disagreed. To them, the senior pup wasn’t imagining anything. One commenter wrote, “Because he IS flying!!” Another called him “The fastest, fluffy boy.” Others refused to accept that Topi had entered his senior years at all. One viewer commented, “You’re lying, he’s still a puppy.” Another added, “omg, he is the cutest flying corgi ever.” Many longtime followers found themselves reflecting on how quickly time has passed. One user wrote, “Goodness, how is Topi 12 already!”
