A rescue dog named Sunny, who spent his first few years in a cage at Ridglan Farms, is now discovering his love for toys and snuggles in a sweet Instagram video from @ashleynicolerinaldo.
When Ashley Nicole Rinaldo brought him home, her video captured a dog who did not yet understand toys, soft beds, or that a human hand could mean comfort instead of a procedure. However, nine days later, the transformation belongs in a storybook. Sunny discovers things he can enjoy, but most importantly, he discovers love.
Rescue dog discovers he loves toys and snuggles in soft bed with his forever family
The video’s on-screen caption explains, “It’s been 9 days since we picked up our Ridglan Farms Foster Beagles,” noting that the rescue dog “learned a few things” after being free from the cage, including his love for toys and snuggles.
Toys are the first thing the caption notes, with the video showing the rescue Beagle playing with them on the floor as he bounces with joy. It is like he is making up for lost time with every pounce.
Next, the caption adds, “He loves being pet and called a good boy,” as the video shows Sunny really enjoying a hand petting him and soaking in the love he is getting. Petting releases oxytocin in both species, lowering stress hormones and building trust, and after years of clinical handling, the contact is the dog’s sign to relax.
Then comes the soft bed, with the caption noting, “He loves snuggles and being in a soft bed with his humans.” The clip captures Sunny enjoying a nap, finally dreaming in peace after years inside a cage.
In her caption, Rinaldo writes, “And just like that, his life is now how it should have always been.” She adds, “What an emotional journey. I’m so proud of him and the progress he has made the last 9 days,” announcing that she is already planning his first birthday party.
As the final on-screen caption said, other than toys and snuggles, this rescue dog “Discovered He Officially Has His Forever Family.”
