Dog Who Moved Every Year Looks Devastated When Family Starts Clearing Out Room

In a video shared by @doggiesbeautysalon on Instagram, a dog named Buddy sat quietly near a clothing rack. His soft eye contact made the moment feel even heavier. The on-screen text said he and his owner had moved many times before, so he “knew the drill.” This time, however, the family was only clearing the room for renovation.

This is actually an archival video from the owner of Buddy, who appeared to be a small mixed-breed dog, and is no more. The memory feels heavier because the account later shared his cremation certificate, listing Buddy’s years as 2010 to 2026.

Dog looks absolutely heartbroken thinking his family’s moving again, but that’s not true

The clip, posted on May 21, showed Buddy sitting on a wooden floor during a room cleanup. According to the caption, his family had moved almost every year throughout their lives. When items started leaving the room, the dog appeared “sad and concerned.” However, the post explained that they were renovating, not preparing to move again.

The on-screen caption added that Buddy thought they were “moving AGAIN,” even though the family was only working on the room. The account wrote that he “liked” where they lived. It was also the place where they “had lived the longest.” That small detail made his worried face hit much harder.

Buddy’s reaction likely came from memory and routine. Dogs can connect repeated actions with past changes. For him, packed-up belongings may have meant another move. In the video, he stayed close, looked up with steady contact, and seemed unsure about what was happening around him.

The post also carries a bittersweet layer because Buddy has since passed away. In another post, the account called him “my beautiful angel” and shared that his cremation certificate had come home. The certificate listed Buddy’s years from 2010 to 2026. A separate post also showed Buddy with Toby, saying they would always be brothers “on earth and in heaven.”

Fans reacted emotionally in the comments. One wrote, “He’s so cute, fly high little ones.” Another said, “Oh poor baby dogs definitely know about moving and they definitely get scared because they are afraid you’re gonna leave them.” A third added, “Such a sweet baby and so sorry for your loss.” A fourth wrote, “They’re so innocent.”
