Rescue Dog Dumped All Alone Walks up to Strangers for Help & Isn’t Left Behind

A rescue dog, who was previously dumped and left all alone, now has his own pack, thanks to his new mom, who decided to take him home. Buddy Boy was in poor condition when his mom found him. He features in a video from @mochidointhings on Instagram, opening with a scene on a rural Arkansas truck stop where a weak dog was darting between cars, approaching one stranger after another.

An attendant at the gas station in the video explained that the rescue dog had been there for over a week, dumped to fend for himself, and nobody stopped for him until his mom did.

In the on-screen caption, the mom walks through what happened next with the abandoned dog that she had found at the gas station. She wrote, “So I said ‘all right, get in the truck,’” and the dog — later named Buddy — was so exhausted that he fell asleep standing up. Once inside the truck, he collapsed into a deep sleep.

Over the next 14 hours of highway driving and another 14-hour leg back to Phoenix, Buddy began learning what safety felt like. He eventually got a bath, had mats cut from his fur, went toy shopping, and finally ate enough for his size — and all of it earned the caretaker lots of good wishes from several viewers.

The caption from the rescue dog’s mom says, “I tried to rehome Buddy with the perfect family but in the end we just couldn’t do it,” adding, “Ladies and gentlemen I would like to introduce you to the newest member of the pack, Buddy Boy.” The video ends with Buddy playing with his new pack, looking like he had been there all along.
