Bogey, the Bernese Mountain Dog, may just be 1 year old, but he already acts like a seasoned little pizza thief. His owner and Instagram user @bogeybeartheberner recently shared a video showing the dog spotting a tray of pizza on the table and immediately knowing he wants in. At first, Bogey pops up beside the food as if he has just happened to be passing through. But then, he stares at the pizza, glances off to the side as if checking whether anyone is coming, and eventually carefully helps himself to some.

After taking that first bite, the pizza thief looks straight into the camera with the kind of face only a dog can pull off — a mix of innocence and mischief, the kind that says, “What are you going to do about it?” Then he disappears from view. For a second, it seems like the heist is over, but it is not, because he comes back for more, grabs another two pieces, looks into the camera again, and finally makes his exit. He does leave behind a few pieces like a thief with at least some manners.
The caption under the video says, “It’s Bogey’s pizza now!” — and no one can argue with that after the Bernese’s perfect little heist.
Dogs do this a lot around food they know they should probably not have. The smell catches their attention first, of course — and pizza is about as tempting as it gets — but that little look around the room signals what many dogs learn to do. They watch people before they make a move, especially if they have ever heard “no” near the table before.
Bogey may not be planning a crime, but he definitely looks like he is trying his best not to get caught.
