Little Girl Holds Golden Retrievers’ Ears When Someone Passes by for a Reason

Growing up involves learning a lot from your parents, and sometimes those lessons take the sweetest yet funniest turn. Olivia is a tiny human over at @ladyandtheblues who clearly paid attention to her mom’s safety habits. Her mom used to hold her hand whenever cars or strangers passed by on the sidewalk. Now that she is older, she has decided to pay it forward to her two Golden Retrievers, Lady and Lily. It is honestly the most heartwarming thing you will see on the internet today.

Little Girl is protective of Golden Retrievers, so she holds their ears

The video starts with Olivia standing between her pups while waiting for a car to pass by. She reaches out with both hands to grab their soft ears and hold them tight. Her mom explains that Olivia does this because she wants to keep them safe. Being Goldens, Lady and Lily just stand there perfectly still while their tiny shepherd does her job. It’s like they seem to understand that these are her “emotional support ears” for the moment.

The clips move through different days, different places, but the habit stays the same. At a curb, she pauses and holds Lady’s ear, waiting patiently. In the snow, bundled up in pink, she stays close again, one hand still reaching out. On a hike, she immediately reaches for Lady’s ear the second she spots another hiker coming their way. Olivia even leans over them protectively until the path is totally clear and safe.

She’s always been like that with them. Earlier, we’ve seen the little girl warn her Golden Retrievers about approaching stairs or cars in other popular clips. This little girl really makes sure her furry sisters are included in every single safety check.

The internet is obsessed with this bond, and the post already has over 58,000 likes. One viewer mentioned how precious it is that the dogs are her protectors while she protects them. Another one says, “Oh my heart can’t take so much sweetness.” And same.
