They say, “home is where the heart is,” and for a Golden Retriever and his mom, their home happens to be the beach. An adorable Instagram video from @goldenchilidog shows a Golden Retriever named Chili returning to the beach — and his mom cannot stop crying once she sees his face light up with joy. The video opens with the on-screen text, “taking my soul dog to his favorite place.” And that is all it takes for Chili to remember where he feels the happiest. Then, he remembers why the ocean presents a multitude of possibilities to run and have fun.
Golden Retriever returns to the beach with mom and his reaction says it all
The Golden Retriever in the video pads across the beach and sits, waiting for his mom’s cue. His mom then says, “Ready, set, go!” and Chili takes off into the distance, racing straight into the surf as if he never left his home.
Meanwhile, the captions fill in the backstory. They say, “Chili grew up on the Florida beaches,” followed by, “but we moved a few years ago,” — but even so, the beach seems to flip a switch for him, as the on-screen text says, “it still feels like home to him,” calling him “a forever beach boy.” His mom adds, “Never seen him happier than at the beach.”
Chili proves his mom’s point by sitting in the water for a while. Then he sprints back onto shore — and that is when his mom’s emotions really spill over.
