Anyone who owns a Golden Retriever knows that “clean” is just a temporary state of being. @imbluethesiberian recently shared a video that shows their dog finding the deepest pile of muddy water in the yard. Corey and Emma Moriarty finally get their pool sparkling the day before. It is a big job, plus, they just bathed Bauer, too. However, literally five minutes after Corey turned his back, the golden boy decides he needs a makeover. Now he looks like a chocolate Lab, as someone referred to him in the comments.

Once the initial shock wears off, Corey tries to see how he can fix this problem. Bauer, on the other hand, sits next to the pristine pool looking like a “total teenage dirtbag.” He is completely covered in black sludge from head to toe. The dog just barks back as if he is demanding a quick rinse in the pool. But dad is trying everything in his power to prevent this filthy pup from jumping into a freshly scrubbed pool. “I might have to be the new pool guy now,” Corey joked.
Bauer evidently doesn’t feel any regret. The golden boy tries to clean himself by rubbing his body on the grass. Corey tells him that the grass is definitely not making things better. The Retriever then runs through some tree leaves for extra scrubbing power. Finally, the pet parent reaches for the garden hose to fix the disaster.
Bauer sits down with his bowl in his mouth while the water starts running. You can see the dark, muddy water streaming off his fur. You can tell that it’s going to be a long drawn process. The dog even tries to shake the mess onto Corey mid-bath.
Corey finally gets the last bit of filth off and gives Bauer a stern warning. He tells the dog to stay away from the pool because he really doesn’t want to pay a professional to come back tomorrow. Naturally, the dog hovers right on the edge of the pool with his bowl. And ignoring every single one of his dad’s pleas, launches himself into the blue water anyway. The pet parent just gives up because he is officially calling the pool guy back for another visit.
