A Staffy named Holly doesn’t really mind thunder, but a little wind sends her straight to her dad for a cushion hideout. Over at @hollythebluestaffy, this sweet girl is currently navigating a stormy Victoria afternoon, and this video shows what makes her feel better during such times — pillow forts, and treats, of course. This muscular dog is a total softie who needs treats to survive a storm, and her dad is always there to help her cope. She is just a sensitive soul in a tough body.
Video shows dog finding a cozy spot in pillow fort next to dad during storm
The video starts with the dog dad in the living room, filming as a storm rolls through their town. Then, we see a very visibly scared Holly come in from the hallway. She jumps straight onto the couch and goes to hide behind the large cushions. The in-video text says it is officially pillow fort time. She wedges herself deep behind the throw pillows. The caption tells us that the dog always tucks herself away to feel safe, as it helps her block out the whistling wind.
The Staffy stays perfectly still while she manages her big feelings. Dad gets up to show us exactly where she is hiding and moves a cushion slightly, and her little face appears. He lets out a small laugh because she looks so worried. He also spends time reassuring her while she stays tucked away. Holly is perfectly happy staying in her cave until the sun returns.
But her dad knows of another thing that helps Holly during storms — treats. Soon after, we see the owner walk up to the dog and place a snack on top of the pillow. Then comes the cutest part, as Holly’s face slowly emerges from behind the pillows to grab the treat.
She takes it slowly and immediately retreats back into the pillows. Dad does it again with another piece. It is hilarious to watch her pop up and down for the goods. But through it all, she stays right there next to her dad. Safe spot secured. Snacks incoming. And somehow, even with the storm going on, it all feels pretty handled. One fan said, “She is absolutely the most precious thing imaginable.” We have to agree.
