The kitchen next door has officially been turned into a private diner where a grandma is flipping patties for a very patient, very large dog. Chewy’s owner recently filmed a video of this exact scene while trying to pick up the pup from his favorite neighbor’s house. He is a massive Newfoundland who loves being on his grandma’s kitchen floor. You can check out his daily adventures over at @chewythenewfoundland, where he hangs out with his 170K followers. Here, though, he is clearly aware that the food situation is about to work out very well for him.

Chewy’s Grandma is busy at the cooktop and looks down at him with a huge smile. “I’m making us some burgers Chewy,” she says while the patties sizzle in the pan. She even mentions that they like to eat early, which is such a grandma thing to say. But the best part is how she prepares the plate. She tells him he gets two burgers while she only takes one for herself, and because she’s a total sweetheart, she actually cuts his portions into perfect, bite-sized pieces.
Grandma leans over and then sets the plate down on the floor for the dog in the video. She just stands there in the kitchen, eating her own burger while Chewy absolutely inhales his meal. It’s a hilarious sight because, being a huge Newfoundland, he could probably eat the whole thing in one go if he really wanted to.
One viewer pointed out that she even melted the cheese and put it on buns before cutting them up. He clearly approves of the chef because the plate is spotless in record time. Then, she just pats him lovingly on the back.
Their bond is honestly something else. Whether she’s sewing custom items for him or he’s walking her back to her house to give her some extra support, they are inseparable. “Nothing is better than Grandma’s cooking,” the owner wrote, and the 66K likes on the clip prove everyone agrees.
One fan joked that the “puppy isn’t ever coming home” after a meal like that. And honestly, with a private chef who serves cheeseburgers on demand, nobody can really blame him for wanting to stay.
