A dog named Eva has heard the words “I love you” before, but she is too sassy to accept the love in this adorable Instagram video from @sassyhuskies. Every time the Husky’s owner tells her she loves the dog, Eva responds with low growls. Eva’s owner opens with a perfectly serious introduction, saying, “So Eva has a hard time accepting love,” and then puts that theory to the test, telling her, “Hey, I love you,” with a gentle head rub. But each time the phrase comes out, Eva responds with the same cranky little growl.
Husky loves to be sassy everytime owner says ‘I love you’ to her
In the video, the owner keeps going with a few more “I love you” attempts, but the dog simply would not stop being sassy. Then comes the plea, where she asks Eva, “Can you accept my love, please?” but still, Eva stays committed to the bit and keeps grumbling in that low, non-threatening way. The scene ends as the human gives in and plants a kiss on the Husky anyway.
Under the video, the caption explains the joke behind Eva’s reaction, saying, “She loves to sass, and if I stop, she stares at me and grumbles because she wants more; this is her idea of being funny.” And this is not surprising for huskies. They tend to “talk” a lot, and many of them use little grunts and growls as casual communication, especially when they feel comfortable and want attention to continue.
Moreover, it is a win-win situation for Eva, because she gets constant pets while she puts on her grumpy voice.
Viewers loved Eva’s commitment to her sass. In the comments, one commenter wrote, “She’s trying to play it cool but mushy on the inside,” while another begged, “Let me love you!!!!!” A third viewer commented, “Those are love growls!” And one comment joked, “Eva’s love language is agro.”
The dog in this video may not say “I love you” back, but she does not move an inch — and for a sassy Husky like her, that is basically a love letter.
