Video: Owner Proves Dogs Are ‘Everything Good’ in World

Trying to stay warm in New Jersey right now feels like a losing battle, especially when it’s actually negative nine degrees outside. Maria, a teacher who runs @hudsonstaysgolden on Instagram, is dealing with the freeze by looking back at much better times. She posted this video of her Golden Retriever, Hudson, who is an enthusiastic shell hunter.

It starts on a beach with Hudson sitting there with the biggest smile on his face. He’s got a seashell tucked right between his paws, and he looks very proud of it.

Golden Retriever’s sweet gestures are proof that dogs are ‘everything good’ in world

It turns out he spent his entire summer bringing gifts to his mom. The video shows a montage of sunny afternoons as the Golden Retriever digs through the sand. You can see the sand flying everywhere behind him while he works. Then he finally finds one, trots over with a sandy snout, and drops it right into her hand.

The sweet dog just stands there wagging his tail, waiting for her to fully check out his treasure. “Hudson brought me gifts all summer,” the text on the screen says. It’s hard not to smile back at him. Maria says she’s using these memories to warm her soul during the winter.

In the video, you also see the Golden Retriever bring over a particularly big shell, and she sounds so excited when she thanks him. He’s a school therapy dog, so he’s used to making people feel better. One person in the comments mentioned how dogs probably have no idea how much joy they actually give to people just by being themselves.

The last part of the clip shows him sitting by the crashing waves, surrounded by all the shells he dug up that day. He looks so satisfied with his work. “He was sharing his treasures with me… without even realizing… he’s my treasure,” the text says. It’s honestly the cutest thing. Over 4,000 people have liked the post, and everyone is pretty much in agreement that we need more of this energy right now. It definitely makes those warmer beach days feel a little closer.
