Sharing a bed with a pet usually means getting kicked in the ribs or losing all your covers, but this kid has the setup figured out. A viral clip from @ashlynn_renee__ shows a little boy tucked into his bed, looking completely content. But he isn’t using a standard pillow. Instead, he’s resting his head directly on his massive English Mastiff.
These guys are famously known as gentle giants, and it’s pretty obvious why. In the video, we see the big dog sprawled against the pillow, acting as the softest headrest imaginable for his tiny human brother. It is the kind of video that makes you want to go take a nap immediately.
Big dog and tiny human cuddle endlessly in adorable video
The scene starts with the mom zooming in as the little boy pulls the covers up to his chin. He is trying to get as cozy as possible. And you can see both of their heads snuggled right next to each other on the pillowcase. The big dog is totally passed out. Eyes shut. Dead to the world.
It’s wild how a dog that size can be so incredibly careful around a tiny human, but as we see in the video, they just seem to have an instinct for it. The background music for this clip is “You’ve Got a Friend in Me,” and it honestly couldn’t be more perfect for the vibe.
Then the dog senses the camera. He moves his head just a tiny bit, which nudges the boy. The kid looks up and spots his mom filming, but he doesn’t actually get up. They both just stay there in that half-awake, half-asleep state. It is just pure comfort. Someone in the comments joked, “You got a pillow on me!” and that pretty much sums it up.
Over 1,800 people have liked the post so far. It’s basically a wall of heart-eye emojis in the comment section. And they really do look like a poster for best friends. Most people would be worried about a dog that large in a small bed, but this English Mastiff is being so gentle. He is just happy to be included in the nap. The boy eventually closes his eyes again, settling back into the dog’s fur.
