Puppies Love the Cat a Little Too Much in Adorable Video

A calm cat with a crowd of eager puppies sounds like chaos, but an adorable Instagram video from user @maplewoodsilks shows it can actually be the opposite. The cat has got her own fan club, and the breeder narrates the whole scene like it’s a nature documentary. Socializing might not be the kitty’s cup of tea, but the puppies don’t care about that.

Puppies surround and shower the cat with affection in adorable video

The video belongs to “a small home based breeder of the lovable delightful Havana Silk Dog,” and they shared the adorable moment with their cat and the puppies, captioning it, “Puppies loving on their kitty!!” In the video, a long-haired cat named Penny sits near a staircase. But she is not alone, as several small puppies hover around her, sniffing and pressing in close — and it is the most adorable thing you will see today.

The breeder introduces Penny as “our zen kitty Penny, accepting admiration from her fan club.” As the puppies take turns nosing in, the breeder points out each pup by name, including “Ren, who is maybe her biggest fan right now,” followed by “Agatha, you’re such a good boy,” and then “there’s Chloe.”

The video continues as the breeder shares a few details about the puppies, including which ones remain available. Meanwhile, Chloe heads to her new home soon, with the breeder noting, “Chloe goes to her new family this weekend,” adding an adorable detail — “She says she’s very excited because she hears they are going to give her belly rubs.”

Penny eventually walks into the room, and the puppies follow her again. The breeder jokes, “Ren is like, ‘I’m wagging my tail, Penny. Do you love me?’” before adding, “Penny’s like, ‘Oh gosh, you guys, I just put up with so much.’” Penny then jumps onto a counter, and the breeder ends with, “She’s very patient though.”

Puppies often explore the world with their noses, and during the early stages of socialization, they often treat friendly animals as potential new friends to investigate. And Penny’s calm body language just makes it all very easy for the pups.
