Going away for seven whole days feels very long when you have a small pet ready to guilt-trip you. Doongi is a 4-year-old Maltese living his best life in Los Angeles. His parents, Hana and David, recently got back from a week-long vacation, and things haven’t exactly gone back to normal yet.
A new post on @mr.doongi shows that personal space is no longer a thing in their house. His dad is just trying to stand at the kitchen sink. But as we see in the video, the small dog is determined to stay within touching distance of dad at all times. He is not taking any chances anymore.
Dog is ‘extra clingy’ after dad is home after vacation
The camera tilts down, and you see Doongi wedged right between his dad’s legs and the counter. You see his tiny head behind the open dishwasher door. And he looks like he has no intention of moving. This behavior is common with this dog breed since they are small companions. One week away is a very long time for them.
You’ll crack up when you see his face in the close-up. It’s hilarious. He just blinks at the camera while his mom films. He has so many thoughts going on. He is making sure he won’t leave that spot for even a second. Longtime followers know this is a big change from his usual feisty self.
Another video on his page shows him barking at his mom when she was annoying him. But now he is all about being close. His owner mentioned that “he’s been extra clingy” since they got back. It makes sense. You miss your people when they are gone. And so, he does everything to keep them in sight. Even if that means being a bit of a trip hazard in the kitchen.
The clip has over 10,600 likes at the time of writing. Viewers really felt for the little guy. One viewer joked that he was waiting at the door every single day. Another said that all future trips should be dog-friendly from now on. Dad even hopped into the comments to promise his “son” that he is never leaving again. And we know Doongi will make sure his dad keeps his promise.
