Most of us find ourselves in the kitchen for a clean spoon or a snack, but in Priscilla’s house, you have to check the actual cabinets for a missing dog. And this is just daily life for the mini Dachshund duo over at @mybluesuedepaws.
This video starts with a very confused dad wandering around the counters looking for his dog, who is hiding. She is nowhere to be found, at least not out in the open. Being a Dachshund means she has a long, narrow body specifically designed for squeezing into tight spaces. She really put those skills to the test here while hiding.
Dog’s hiding spot in the house is unlike anything you’ve ever seen
Dad starts calling her name. “Priscilla, where are you?” he asks. Then he notices the corner cabinet door is shaking just a little bit. It is one of those lazy susan cabinets with rotating shelves. He calls her again, and the camera pans over to Elvis, the other half of the pair. Elvis is just standing there looking innocent. But dad knows better.
He moves toward the suspicious cabinet and gently pulls the door open. And there she is. Priscilla is literally sitting on the rotating shelf. She looks like she is just waiting for the next turn. “What the heck are you doing in there?” dad asks while he laughs. Priscilla doesn’t even look embarrassed. She just casually steps off the rotating shelf and trots away to join Elvis.
The video of this dog pulling a Houdini is a 10/10 hiding job. One commenter called her the cutest hide-and-seeker they had ever seen. She definitely has a talent for finding the most random spots to hang out.
Over 4,800 people have liked the clip, which is mostly a hit with small pet owners. Some people think she might have smelled a mouse in the walls. “Her new hiding spot…” the caption says. And it is a good one. It is a very clever use of kitchen storage. And it makes you wonder how long she was in there before she started shaking the door.
